I've toyed with the idea of getting one for years.  However that is the ONETHING my husband absolutely freaks out about.  He doesn't bat an eye regarding the multiple piercings I have in my ears (4 in one, 5 in the other) but tats really bother him.

Jean, who would probably have a small scottish thistle on the ankle if it wasn't such a thorny subject w/my other half.

I'm working on a fiddle tattoo also.  My daughter has taught me with her tattoos.  Step one, find a good drawing of what you want.  Step two, find a good tattoo artist.  A good artist will take the picture and work on it for a week, then come back with what they should tattoo.  Step three, send us a picture of your tattoo.

Perspective or straight on, the lines of a fiddle are really really tough to render. Most drawings or paintings of a violin look clumsy and wrong. When the support (skin) can move and stretch, well...

It takes a superb eye and hand, the kind that doesn't show up too often, to get the drawing of a fiddle so it doesn't look lame. Sorry to be so blunt about it, but I believe it is so.
I want to be a musician when I grow up.
Sorry, son, you can't do both.

there's a man that lives just a few miles from me that can wear a fiddle out. he has fiddle tatto on the inside of his fore arm the full length from the wrist to the elbow nearly.  he's one of the best fiddlers around this part of the country.

Left or right arm? on the inside or outside?

Alright, here's a REALLY cheesy shot of me goofing around during my latest deployment to Iraq.  You can see most of my ink, but the point of me posting it are the treble and bass clefs on my chest.  I'm considering, if I ever learn viola and therefore learn alto clef, getting one of those in the middle.
