Macroom Lasses - easy intro to 3rd position
« on: Nov 16, 2004, 12:14:45 PM »
I've been playing this tune a lot recently and it struck me that it would be a good tune for anyone who's just starting out with 3rd position.

X:1
T:The Macroom Lasses
M:4/4
L:1/8
K:A

The notes I've written fingerings for are all in 3rd position except for the first and last. All the 3rd position playing is on the E string, except for the last F# on the D string. In bar 7, shift up while playing the open E. In bar 9, shift down during the rest - once you get the hang of it you can keep playing the open E as you shift down.

Hope this is helpful to someone.
