Complexity with just three or four instruments
« on: Jun 07, 2020, 01:35:57 AM »
Now, I love solo music, but I get a real hoot from playing with friends (or other musicians who quickly become friends -- funny about that).

Just as singers love to sing in harmony, small ensembles that break away from unison and explore contrapuntal lines find a special thrill in playing more musical layers.

Here are four of the best:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-31e8Nlujw

Now, we can only aspire to be like this bunch, but we can have a lot of fun doing business at a local level.

Muster up your friends, and see how you can bend and fit musical lines above a groove, and give your favourite choons a new lease of life.  I suggest.

I am very much convinced - just have not been on the forum for a while :)

Thanks for the nice music!

Jazz trio.

Watch out for the violin solo beginning about 4.15.
