So I'm doing a science fair experiment and it requires me to use a hervex synthetic string for one of my carbon fiber violin bows. I need to know if there is a rosin that makes the hervex sound better or just works better in general for this hervex string because for my other bows I have rosins that bring out a good sound in them and I need one for this bow too. Thank you so much for your help!

Never heard of it before I'm afraid, I wonder if it's the same sort of thing as Incredihair.

Mrs. Google came up with this:-
"A synthetic fiber that is superior to horsehair in every way. Stronger, more resilient, withstands greater stress without breaking. Holds all rosin with a better bite. 31 inches in length-all useable. Professional quality. Made in U.S.A".
Bad news for horsebreeders. Not fussy about rosin. Allegedly.

If it's the same hair material as used on Incredibows, they used to recommend Andrea , aka Tartini rosin. Certainly works well on mine. Works well with regular hosey stuff too.
Now ear this!

hey everyone! hope you all had a nice holiday. Thanks so much for all of your help! I finished most of my experiments today and the person who tested my bows (don't worry she's credible) said that she actually liked the hervex the best. I used hill light rosin, in case any of you wanted to try it. Thanks again and I hope all of you have a Happy New Year!

Any idea of the cost of rehairing with Hervex compared with horse hair?

well my rehairer charged me the same as the price for normal hair. he, however, had never worked with hervex but he did a wonderful job. Im not sure about other repairers but mine charged the same amount.
