Cabinet for my instruments
« on: May 10, 2013, 02:12:24 PM »
At the moment I have a pile of instruments in my bedroom.

To get rid of all the ugly cases I have been searching for a nice cabinet to keep my instruments in.
I was thinking about something with glass doors and hangers for guitar, mandolin, violas and violins.

Any ideas? My father suggested doing an Ikea mod..

I use these wall hangers for my violins, guitars, and mandolin

It is a cheaper way to go. And the room looks like a proper music room with the instruments displayed.

I have a couple of wall hangers - but that way the instruments take up too much space and they have to be dusted of all the time.

We are talking 6 violins, 2 violas, 2 guitars and a mandolin. And I really want to hang them in a cabinet.

I hang 3 of my instruments on the wall, but that only means that the ugly cases are still standing around in the room....

I have too many instruments for wall hanging.

I think I am opting for the ikea mod.

I found this on the web and will find something along those lines, but maybe with glass doors..

I use S-hooks hung on a rail...(extendable rail or wardrobe rail etc.)...shrink tubing over the metal S-hook where the scroll hooks on....
Space wise there is 9 per mtr ...though 4 have no bridges fitted...
