I came across this tune in the tunebook kept by John Clare, the "peasant poet" , who grew up in Northamptonshire, near where I live. As well as being a poet he was a fiddler and used to sneak off to gypsy camps for a bit of a session and he noted down loads of songs and tunes, this being about 1825.

The problem is that there are a lot of mistakes such as bar lengths that dont add up, but in fairness he never wrote them down to be published, but it means you have to adapt some of them slightly to make them work.

I thought this one was a cracking little jig, after a repeated bar was taken out of the original copy.
Now ear this!

It's nice, Nick.
Eat food.  Not too much.  Mostly plants.
