New mando strings
« on: May 22, 2010, 11:47:41 PM »
Changed the (factory) mandolin strings.  I bought some D'addario mandolin strings at a guitar place.  They had D'addario and Martin.  I don't know anything about anything with mandolin stuff.  I just bought the D'addario's because I knew the name from violin strings, although I don't use that brand on my violin.  Martin I know is a guitar brand, but that's about all I know.

Anyway...I changed them today.  It was very stressful.

  It was very stressful.

Apparently, from what Mat says, he could probably change 'em lying down. (see mandolin blues scale)

LOL  I could probably change violin strings blindfolded, but mandolin is a new adventure for me.  A bit different.  They seem to be nice strings, though.   Of course, anything would be better than factory rubbish!   :D
