I don't know "airs" or "strahispys" too well. More into jigs, waltzes, reels.

Hey Jack - you did it just right. You put a finishing phrase on the fourth measure. Would you mind if we moved it to the end of the song and put something else in it's place?

No, not at all. I know it sounded kinda "final" there. I'm hacking and guessing at this I guess you know! ;)

Some day I'll contribute a bar with no accidentals. Not today though. ;) It just seemed to want to go that way, although it does leave us squarely pointed at a repeat of the first bar - unless someone has a better idea?
I've stuck a double bar line in just to remind us to leave Jack's bar to the end.

Sniff Sniff - I've been smelling smoke on this tune since the second measure. I keep wondering if it will get better or if will start to make sense. My prediction is up in flames.

Hmmm - You know this sounds more like a waltz to me .. I don't understand why you have the ending in the 10th bar. Hmmm It's late at night and I'm too tired to make a contribution ....   Maybe tomorow.

Heya Floyd, Jump right in whenever you wish. That ending is just hanging on the edge for whenever we get to it. Don't sweat it bro. We wern't precise in where we put it. I'm sure we'll find it correct place in due time. Thanks for pointing that out.

You might be right about the smoke Mark. Of the tunes I've written, the ones I like the best just wrote themselves without much effort. That never seems to happen for me with slow tunes. They end up either too predictable and boring, or I try too hard and they go off the rails.

I know what you mean brother. I find that too music of the music I write is predictable and when I try too hard to find a bit of variation it comes out like poo. They write themselves as you said. Anyone else smelling the smoke?

Yes I changed everything after measure 1. If you are still game please run with this one.

The rythym for the second measure is not what I want.
|F2 ((3G/F/E/) FED|
I prefer this rythym In measures 2 and 4 but I can't get the grace note to show up on the sheet music. |E2 {F}(E/D/) EDC| If you listen to the fourth measure it will play it. This is a quandry for me.

I stopped two measures into the B part because I want the tune to move up into higher registers but I have yet to think of an elegant way to walk up there. Instead of Me trying to figure it out. I wonder if you all would give it a stab.

I've bitten off more than the 2 bar limit, but this seems to work if not very revolutionary. Strip off the last 4 bars if you don't like them! Couldn't do this without Tune-o-tron!

Way to end it Martin. Works fine by me. It gives us a little room to embelish the ending if we so choose.

This tune is complete............... unless............... Someone wants to tackle the Chords.

Another nice tune!  I don't "do" airs so didn't try to contribute but I think this one has a nice feel to it.  I'd probably take it slower than your recommended tempo though.  The chords look pretty straightforward; I'm happy to tackle them if nobody else wants to have a go; may be able to get to it tonight but if not then, likely not until the weekend. -Steve

As a part time whistle player I took the liberty of offering this transposed to G so the whistlers and flautists can have a go. For fiddlers, just shift up a string.

Yowsers, I just listened to the midi with the chords, they're a bit, er, thumpetitious, aren't they? Turn a light waltz into Nellie the Hephalump, no insult intended to Steve. I don't think chords work too well on a 3/4 or 6/8 tune in that midi system.

I can see that the chords are great for a guitarist accompaniment, but I was never keen on piano for traditional music. Maybe that's just my crosseyed bear. When we put this in the finished list, could we have versions with and without chords?

Gotta agree with the chord player in concertina net. It does a weird job on "3" time signatures.

I attached is the midi. Our concertina.net really wreaks chords for 3 count tunes.
