IAS strikes again
« on: Mar 24, 2008, 05:00:28 PM »
Another case of Instrument Aquisition Sydrome was reported on 03/21/08.
I have added a Seagull acoustic folk guitar to my fiddle(s)/mando family.
Cedar top, wild cherry sides and back, Silver maple neck, rosewood fingerboard.  Pretty comfortable to play and lovely tone for fingerpicking...haven't played for over 20 years and was playing a tune I knew way back when with all the embelllishments...nice seeing as how I still can't play my fiddle with the tendonitis in my arms - mando & guitar doesn't seem to bother it...so at least I still have a sanity check(relatively speaking).

Hubby is of yet unaware of the new instrument...where he wants a 52" LCD TV this year I am NOT going to worry about it!

Can you loan the Zeta to fiddlejen in the meantime so she can "rock the flock"? ;)

I cashed my sanity check a while back to get a Roland guitar synthesizer... ;D

Seagulls are great, especially since Godin took over distribution here. They're a bit darker-sounding than the less-expensive Taylors, which I like.

That's good news.  I'm glad you've got something to play in the interim until you get your arms back.   :)

Sounds like a pretty nice guitar.

But far more rewarding yes?
I'm really enjoying the tone this cedar top has - really nice for fingerplaying style...might even see about taking some lessons.
