Nice tune, gets played a lot in a local session as part of a set of Sliabh Luachra slides. I didn't know the name, but a quick look on Google suggests it's Nelly Mahony's.

I think I know it as O'Callaghan's, but that doesn't really mean anything ;)

I've also heard this called "Cnoc na gClarac". It's called "Tom Carroll's" on The Ballydesmond Polka CD by Dan Herlihy And John Drew.  Lovely tune.

Thanks guys.  Looks like one of those tunes with too many names.  Or no names.  I'll stop worrying about it.

By the way, here's the other tunes I play with it. First one everybody probably knows, the second is from the Cranitch book, I think.

The second one is actually a Clare tune so it would be a jig/single jig rather than a slide... Carrigaholt is in South-West Clare (the tune was collected by Breathnach from John Kelly - the senior one) and there it would've been the Plain sets (along with the Caledonian but that's all reels) that were danced - they featured jigs and these single type jigs were very popular for certain jig figures. There were very few, if any, slides danced in those parts then. And it's actually in A dorian.

Actually, the key is A mixy the way I play it.  Trust me to do something wrong when I'm tired.  Or even when I'm not tired.   ;)
