Tasteful bling - Gelrest
« on: Nov 11, 2005, 07:29:47 AM »
I wanted to get a GelRest for my new electric fiddle but, thought that a black rest on a black fiddle might look a bit severe and boring. I, therefore, contacted Stephen at Gelrest. He is experimenting (and can supply if you ask him) with flecked rests so, I now have a black rest with gold flecks and gold mountings. Now to Alison and Mark for a matching Incredibow.

I might have news later about Peter Mach's shoulder rest so, watch this space.

PS I'm not connected in any way with either Stephen or Peter (or Alison and Mark).

So, not only are you getting a black sparkly chinrest, but a black sparkly Incredibow too?!

I'm impressed. ;D

No hope.

I'm confused by a box Brownie let alone all this new fangled digital stuff.

Best idea is to picture a block of Pirastro goldflex rosin and change the rosin to a transparent black. That gives a rough idea.

It's all about image!  With an electric if you can't play good, just play loud.  It's worked for generations of guitarists! -Steve

That's one of the reasons I bought one. Plenty of echo from my amp and lots of bling and I'm half way there.

If you're really not confident about your playing, time to go whole hog to pimp that fiddle and add the fingerboard, tailpiece and chinrest with flamboyant abalone and mother-d-pearle inlays!  ;)

You will notice that the first word in the heading is tasteful. This seems a little off topic.
