Title: So I'm Dumb *shrug* Prego Tune
Post by: Alan Kroeger on Sep 12, 2004, 04:23:31 PM
I got myself started with some transcription I was listening to the Prego Commercial and said well that is simple enough to get the notes (don't mean I can play with skillful bowing of that violinist) so, I decided to make this my first effort with transciption (after 20 or so years away friom any efforts) and learning to use abc at the same time.

Here is what I got so, far as far as the rhythmic notation is concerned. Tell whats wrong with both my transcription and my abc notation (so, I learn something)

X: 1
T: Prego Commercial Soundtrack
C:David Horowitz (Composer)
S:Copyright  Prego?, David Horowitz?
N:This abc transcription is for personal use only
M: 4/4
L: 1/8
Q:1/4=120
K:A
Ae Ae2f3-|fe2e2d2c-|cA2B4b-|b3a4-a-|a/2

I don't know but, I think I'm off on the rhythm on the opening notes?

I used NoteWorthy Composer a MIDI editor to transcribe (manually) and then fed the results into MIDI2ABC to generate the ABC (not perfect)

Here's how I'm hearing it Alan, and I know the beats per bar don't add up yet, but they're only for convention anyway. I think one, two or all three initial quavers may be a lead in. The high F is held for five quavers, then drops down to A again and back to the E.

For anyone else wanting a go, you can download an MP3 of the tune from here>
