Hi,

thanks for all offers to give me a lift to Buxton but I again have rented a car. I am arriving in Manchester on Wednesday and will drive around a little bit in the area on Thursday. Thursday night I will stay in the B&B near the George so I should be able to show up on Friday morning between breakfast and lunch and can give a hand to set up everything.

Looking forward to meeting you all again!

Holger

Hi,

is there any string dealer or luthier coming to Buxton? I am looking for a set of octave strings to equip my 8-string fiddle with a set of normal strings plus a set of octave strings.

Please send me a PM. Thanks.

Holger

Paul from Bridge should be coming - he will have some octave strings in stock I'm sure.

Chuck him a mail - info@bridgeinstruments.com

By the way Mark I am doing a detox diet at the moment and the only alcohol I'm allowed is Vodka, so assuming you haven't gone teetotal I will be joining you for a vodka Saturday night.

I'm really looking forward to it, even if my playing will be restricted... I'll have a few tunes though :)

Apologies again to Heidi & Diddle, I was supposed to be picking them up from the airport together on Thursday morning, but obviously that's no longer possible ::) So if anyone can help them out with bus times etc, I'm sure that'd be appreciated!
Debut solo album, 'The Lark's March' out now. More info at triciaclark.co.uk

Hi,

Looking forward to FH again!

I am currently booked in with Sue & Mike at Nats Cafe again, (along with Mark, Rod & Jeff as far as I am aware).  I now have the option of staying at a friends though so this means my room at Nats is potentially up for grabs if anyone needs a room and would like to take it on; if so please let me know, I don't want to let Sue & Mike down at such late notice so am still planning to stop at Nats if no one wants it! .... but if anyone is still looking to book in for somewhere to stay for FH and would like to stay at Nats Cafe let me know and we'll sort it out with Sue & Mike.

Has Diddle found anywhere to stay yet? Haven't seen her online today, maybe she's set off walking to Buxton  ;D

Gilly!

Sure, I'd be glad to take your room!  Much better than the park bench out in front!   ;)

Thank you!

I guess if you just call Cafe Nats and tell Sue that it'll be me there instead of you?  I think Sue will understand because she is already keeping an eye out for a place for me, as I understand it...

Cool GB... and this is of course open to all other forum members. Since we take out the capacity of Cafe Nats accomodation, we had a bit of a drink/chat bash in my room after Saturday night is over.

Hopefully this time I won't leak blood all over the place from a defective beer bottle, and that all beer bottles with contain... um... beer. You'd be advised to bring some extra liquid refreshment along too though.

I'll be arriving sat lunchtime(ish - it will depend on how much I drink on Friday! (old work reunion), stopping overnight, how late I stay till on Sunday depends on Other Half - he's bringing his motorbike this year so he can go whizzing about the peaks while I'm fiddling, so looks promising....

Is everyone ok for picking up now?

I'll be going over on Friday night from Warrington and can pick anyone up on the way if they need.

:) Looks like Im free after all from saturday lunchtime. Need to be back in Coventry by 10.30am Sunday to drive a minibus but thats not too difficult so my intention is to arrive mid afternoon saturday and leave first thing Sunday. Or if not drinking then return at about 1-2 am.

Am trying to persuade some colleagues to drive over the Buxton though I can probably borrow a car anyway. Now where to stay? arghhhh.
