Can't believe it's been a year already - really looking forward to it.

If you have Google Earth, here's the place to be 9th-11th June:
http://simon.bacon.googlepages.com/TheGeorge.kmz
The George itself is kind of in shadow anyway, so I covered it up with a hugely optimistic sunshine icon. ;)

I can't open the google earth page there... scept I think I know what the George looks like. Although, as of yet, I've not seen it from the air.'

I'm picking Heidi & Suzanne up at the airport on the 8th June, but I'll be abandoning them in Buxtonland and going back home that night I'd say. What time will the crowds start to gather on the Friday?
Debut solo album, 'The Lark's March' out now. More info at triciaclark.co.uk

Thank you, Trish...  I wasn't sure if I could hitch a ride with you...  And if I can't, well...  no prob...  I'll hop on a bus and get there one way or another...  So kind of your offer, thank you!  I appreciate it!  I travel light...  Hopefully me and my luggage will fit in your auto...  We'll just check it out when we're all there together, eh?

I'm a terrible planner...  I've never dealt with this sort of thing... Suddenly, I'm worried...  Do I need a reservation somewhere?  Is the town going to be booked up?  Does anyone know?  I figured I'd just find a place when I got there... Oh dear...  I'm at a loss as to how to go about these things from my angle...  Reservations via computer, eh?  Well... where?  What are the choices, I wonder?   ???

Well... thanks for the info, if anybody knows...

I'm aiming to be there around 4pm.

diddle - Buxton is quite popular at this time of year. Last year I left my reservation until a couple of weeks before FH-UK (not sure why, since I had known about it for 12 months beforehand! ::)) and most places were booked up, so I'd recommend booking ASAP.

I'll be arriving mid morning Friday. Or, if the weather stays as it is, I'll start rowing Thursday afternoon so, might be there for Sunday.

I sympathise Jeff. I'm supposed to be catching the ferry from Dublin in a week to go home, but the way it's going I'll just float the car to Limerick city and catch a boat from there ::)

Exactly, we will manage to work something out for any waifs and strays. Sue is back on Monday so, I'll ring then and sort things out.

I'll almost certainly be coming - as long as I can work all this weekend!
Do things kick off on the Friday?
With a session?

Sue has said that the usual suspects from last year are booked into Nats.

For those who don't know what FH and similar events are about, here is a snippet from Sian about last year's Welsh Celtic Fiddle Festival:

One ten year old boy, who was painfully shy and unhappy when somebody else played one of ‘his’ only tunes at speed in an informal session. He was encouraged by two tutors to play at his own pace and not to let the experience and confidence of the other young fiddlers put him off. By Sunday afternoon, he’d learnt a lot more music, made more friends and discovered how to enjoy playing with the others. His mother commented that the weekend had nurtured not only her son, but her confidence in her son’s playing too.

The same applies at FH too. Just watch the smiles as the youngsters hear applause for the first time.

Last year we had some as young as six.

Don't who the oldest was, but everyone is welcome.

There will be a space for a children's workshop separate frm the pub in the Project X cafe on the Sunday afternoon

I spoke with Shetland Bill last night and he expects to be there all weekend. Also Mark, Alison and Tom Kitching, are hoping to get there on the Sunday.
I am anticipating being there on the Friday and Sunday too.

These are not ff members, so you may not recognise the names, but have all participated in fiddle hell uk during previous years.
